Suddenly I felt as I had lost a friend, my sunny bonny queen
This day, like Brigadoon, is lost though idyllic and serene
A charmed and charming day like that I fear again will never shine
That northern star which distant glows, has taken what is mine
So now I run on darkened roads lit solely by the moon
Begging time to lift the loads and ease the sunburn soon
Resigned to ordinary days, I toil without complaint
I had a day which few can boast, and loved without restraint.
